Observing Fear
Observing Fear

Fear constantly lingers in the darkness, dying to devour those who would let it. We should not allow it to consume and control us - but  at the same time we cannot destroy it. Fear is part of us; to be human is to walk with fear. So instead of fighting it we must only watch and learn - acknowledge, and observe fear, so that it loses all power.

Seer
Seer

"Seer" is about being understanding. It is about observing that which divides us - in our realities, in our choices and values - and reducing these differences down to their root causes, their origins, instead of judging them at face value. It is not about picking a side, but trying to understand where the sides come from and what makes them attractive. It is about finding the truth behind all things.

Of Majesty and Malice
Of Majesty and Malice

We are born of a cosmic explosion and united in an origin of stardust.  In our war of power, we can either be the magnificence of our creation or the malice of our destruction.

Obey
Obey

A portrait of my brother, standing amongst nature, blinded by downloaded convention.  ‘OBEY’ portrays the effects of being plugged in to a set of standards, ideas, and perspectives that are not our own.

The frames chosen for this piece are specific. I have my own perspective on the external inputs we are surrounded by. This includes the idea that fundamentally we are taught what to desire, what to believe. Without an environment to exist in, what is a human being? And so then, what does an environment mean to a human being?

Waiting for Love
Waiting for Love

Culture promises a brand of love that is fantastical, effortless, but unrealistic.  Here I search for this promised love, alone, behind rose-colored glass.

Light Rising
Light Rising

A portrait of my sister, sequel to ‘Fire Rising.’ It depicts her journey through life, a powerful rising light in search of love and connection.

Cosmic Poetry
Cosmic Poetry

Some souls are like living poems, where the infinite light of the cosmos lives within and dances about.

Finding the Light
Finding the Light

Many of the great questions do not have answers, but that does not prevent us from searching, because it is in the search, not the answers, where the most can be learned.  In this self-portrait, I seek out answers for my own story; I am trying to find the light.

The Warrior
The Warrior

A portrait of my good friend Scott, whose path through life resembles that of the hero’s journey.  The stars symbolize his two boys, who reflect each other and their father alike.

We must remember what’s important to us, what makes us strong, and what we are meant for.  We must always move forward.  Everyone can benefit from trying to be like The Warrior.

For Frida with Love
For Frida with Love

Part of my new homage series.  I pay tribute to the great Frida Kahlo, who, feeling alone and trapped most of her life, offered to the world her soul in her symbolism-rich art.

Reptilian Brain
Reptilian Brain

My painting Reptilian Brain was inspired by Carl Sagan, who said in the series Cosmos, ‘Capping the brainstem is the R-Complex, R for reptile. It’s the seat of aggression, ritual, territoriality, and social hierarchies. It evolved hundreds of millions of years ago, in our reptilian ancestors.'

Guns N' Roses
Guns N' Roses

The ‘Guns N’ Roses’ series challenges the conventional perceptions of power.  Fleeting violence is pitched against the purity and vulnerability of love.
